HZPC Americas Corporation, recently established, is a North American company responsible for the North, Central and South America potato marketing activities of HZPC Holland B.V. corporation. HZPC Holland B.V., represents a new, grower owned, seed potato company emerging from the union of the famous Dutch seed potato companies Hettema B.V. and B.V. De ZPC. These former companies, known on a global basis for excellence in the seed and table potato markets, collectively represent more than 170 years of successful potato variety development, seed production and export potato trade. Intense research and development was identified as essential for future survival in the highly competitive potato market and this Hettema & ZPC union will establish HZPC Holland B.V. as leader in global potato trade. HZPC Americas Corporation, arises from this union and is committed to serve customers with seed potato varieties that will meet current and future market challenges. The year 2000 saw wide commercialization of the varieties Adora, Caesar, Divina, Fabula, Mondial, Morning Gold and Norvalley. Producers in Mexico, United States of America and Canada were able to realize production advantages offered by varieties from HZPC. Emerging varieties, from our research and collaborative efforts, are just now creating interest in the dark red skin markets, with processors of russet and round white varieties and with varieties that have unique niche opportunities.
