California Tire Report

The California Tire Report provides faxed or e-mail updates twice a week on issues and events affecting the California waste tire industry. Now in its 10th year of publication, the Report covers the state™s scrap tire industry, including activities of firms that stockpile, clean up, and/or recycle waste tires. It reports on changes in laws and regulations affecting tire recyclers, tire dealers and waste tire haulers. It monitors the grants, contracts and loans that the state of California offers to private firms and the public sector and is the first to list those who are awarded grants and contracts.

Subscriptions are $195 annually for e-mailed updates and $295 for faxed updates.

Terry Leveille, president of TL & Associates and publisher of the California Tire Report, also provides comprehensive governmental relations and business assistance for potential tire recycling companies since forming his consulting/publishing firm in 1994.

His fee for an initial 2-hour consultation of the tire recycling markets in California is $250. This overview includes a history of successful and unsuccessful ventures in the state, and why they succeeded or failed; a discussion of tipping fees and tire dealer disposal fees by region; existing tire recyclers (potential competition) and waste tire disposal options; laws, regulations and permits that tire recyclers must heed; prospects for the future; and other pertinent information that everyone who is involved in the California waste tire industry should know.

Terry also assists private firms and local governments with grants, contracts, loans and permits. To date, he has written applications that have garnered private companies over $2 million in tire recycling grants. He has also written successful local government grants for the cities of Pomona, Long Beach, Seal Beach and Poway for the purchase and installation of playground cover and equipment made from recycled materials.
